LDの一番の大敵は振動だったと思うけど、
リアルタイムに表示する必要ないなら回転数を落としてサンプリングしてるのかなー。
LD-X1とかHLD-X9みたいな高級民生機とか、業務用を改造して振動対策してるんだろか。
うちのX9はベルト劣化のエラーが出るようになって使えなくなったなぁ・・。

自分も低速で直接光学的にデータ読みだすのを想像してましたが、機械部や信号読み出しは元の機種そのままで、単にNTFC変換の回路をバイパスしただけのようです。
正直、「収録されたアナログデータをそのままサンプリングして」というのとは違う気がする。

いえ、Domesday DuplicatorではNTSC/PAL信号処理部だけでなく、その手前の時間軸補正、映像/音声/データ信号分離、FM変調なども元の機種のものをバイパスしてソフトウェア側で実装しています。
